When the Flash loads on the internet explorer, the swf file usually resides in the temporary Internet Files folder on your computer. You can identify the file you wish to copy and save it to your local folder. Also there is a software called 'Imperator' which converts swf flies to fla files. These fla files can be then edited thru Macromedia Flash software.

I hope this resolves your query.

When you download somebody elses Flash files, you are downloading the "published" version. You cannot open one of these files into Flash for editing - this is for obvious copyright (both legal and moral) reasons, although there are probably programs out there to rip stuff out of them... try searching the net.

There is an extension for Firefox that is called "Fast Video Download" all you do is click on the logo then click on the video you want downloaded. It will then save it as a .flv which you can convert with Total Video Converter.
