No... if they don't have the means, I don't. I worked hard to pay my way through university and am proud of that accomplishment. If the parents have the means, it might be helpful to their child but I'm not sure if for some individuals, that would make them take their education for granted. If I think about it, had my parents paid for my education, I might have been inclined to do even better, just because I appreciate how hard they've worked all their lives and the sacrifices they have made for me so maybe it depends on the individual.

I don't think it's their responsibility, but it is their choice. Some parents make their children support themselves through university, while others try to help out as much as they can.
Both are helping the child, whether it be to help them become independent, or help them until they can become independent in their own time.

It's not the responsibility of the parents. They can only help you until you get your own wings.
But if they do it out of affection, then you don't need to deny it.
