Yes I have dated a man with a disability. I really enjoyed our time together because I really loved the person he was and didn't worry about his limitations. I accepted them openly as a part of made him who he was.

I didn't feel any loss of romance at all. Sometimes erections were difficult, but he always made up for it in foreplay and other types of activities that accomplished the same end result.

I truly missed him.

Yes. I dated a man who had his leg amputated above the knee, a man who had mild Cerebral Palsy, and my husband of 14 years has severe Type 1 Diabetes.

Being a curious person by nature, I asked all of those men about their disabilities and their limitations. It wasn't an intense questioning period, it was more casual. But, since I believe trust is a fundamental element of a relationship, I knew if they didn't trust me enough to share with me that our relationship was going nowhere.

The element of romanticism grew as we got to know each other and when the time was right, well...the time was right. When two people care for each other, and trust each other, you can work within the limitations. As each day goes by, I love my husband more and more.

I dated a man in a wheelchair with multiple sclerosis. He was wonderfully charming and very very intelligent. I did not sleep with him, but I did feel a distinct loss of lust and romanticism in what otherwise might have been a good relationship. I know how it sounds, but I felt more like his caretaker than his girlfriend and I was always worried that something might happen to him and that I wouldn't be able to help. I also (ashamedly) felt like if something happened to me, he wouldn't be able to help me. I guess, thankfully, he wanted a lot more in a girlfriend/wife than I could give as far as traditionalism, so the relationship ended fairly quickly for that reason.

I once dated a girl with a glass eye. After each date I would say I'll see you later and she would say I'll keep an eye out for ya.
