of what age most medical students are in their first year of college?

i feel shy coz i anticipate that others will be more better than me as they'll be in their 18-19 and perhaps have not gone through as many attempts as i have.How will i keep up with others?relate me some experiences to make me feel better.

In the US, medical school is a graduate degree -- so most students are 22.

In many other countries (Spain -- for example), you can do medicine as an undergraduate. This means that the typical first year medical student will be 18 or 19.
