DJ Spoony has dished up a whole new meaning to the title 'DJ' with his vast capability and experience in the art turning the business upside down with his personality, panache and perfection, making him more than just that friendly face behind the decks.

After graduating from behind the decks in his mum's kitchen, Spoony has already left a permanent mark in international clubland as a member of the Dreem Teem and individually with his residency at London's 'Twice as Nice', the mecca of underground garage clubbing.

Added to this are non stop bookings at venues all over the UK and Europe, including many summers in Ibiza and Ayia Napa. His busy schedule does not stop him completing a vast amount of charity work too, especially with children, becoming a patron to the 'Body and Soul' charity, the UK's only organization supporting children living with and affected by HIV.

Spoony joined the effort to achieve justice for Damilola Taylor after young people in Peckham named him as a voice they respected. He recorded a television message for broadcast on the BBC's Crimewatch UK programme describing how he grew up on a similar estate to Damilola in an effort to bring justice to a horrific crime.

Spoony's broadcasting career has also gone from strength to strength since the days of hosting his own show on pirate radio station London Underground. He has presented both daytime and specialist shows on London's Kiss 100, combining his innovative DJing style with his enthusiastic chat with both listeners and celebrities alike. Guests have included Will Smith, Spike Lee and Ian Wright. The rest of the country then got to witness his fun loving banter every Friday night on Galaxy Dance Weekend. However it was only a matter of months before the cream of the crop of broadcasting, Radio One recognized the personality and talent of Spoony and the Teem members and landed them with a prime-time weekend breakfast show and an evening show on the same night.

Spoony has received accolades from "Blues and Soul" magazine being nominated for the "Best Radio DJ of '98" and at the prestigious "MOBO Awards" as part of The Dreem Teem for "Best Club DJ's of '98", an award he won on his own in 2001.

His radio career extends to his interest in sport, presenting a show in 2002 for Five Live on kicking racism out of football. Spoony also enjoys a round of golf and practicing on the driving range, though he admits he has a long way to go before he equals his achievements as a DJ!
