I went to the doctor and took the urine test but while taking the test I drunk water to produce more urine and it came back negative. But the main reasons that I think that I am pregnant is because my stomach has been getting bigger and I have stretch marks and i've been more tired thsn usual and I've been hungry in the middle of the night and I've been have weird dreams lately also and I have a black line on my stomach and I've been feeling things in my stomach and my stomach is hard.

Does water effect HCG level detection in pregnancy tests? Can you feel fetal movements at 15-16 weeks?

Hello there honey.
You know, there is a very good chance that you are not pregnant at all. At your age it is normal for your periods to be irregular and even to skip one once in awhile. Do you know when the first day of your last period was? Have you been using any kind of birth control?
It is true that a negative pregnancy test can be wrong but if you were that far along (15-16 weeks) it would NOT be negative, no matter how much water you drank. I do not understand why the doctor did not do a blood test. That would tell you for certain and you should have the results in one day. You see, the urine test is looking for the presense of HCG, the hormone that your body produces during pregnancy and to be as far along as you say you are the levels should be quite high. No amount of water is going to change that. If the hormone is present, the test will pick it up. What gives you a false negative is taking the test too early. If your last period was over three months ago there would have been sufficient amounts of hormone to make the test positive. It is really odd that even though the urine test was negative no further testing was done.
Why didn't the doctor do a physical exam? Did you tell him how long it has been since you have had a period? Why on earth didn't he follow up with a blood test? That would have been the thing to do. When ever the patients feelings and the tests do not concur then something else should be done. If you were my daughter I would have insisted on a physical exam and a blood test, possibly an ultrasound. There are just too many unanswered question here.
Have you been having any other symptoms of pregnancy? Are you nauseous? are you getting up at night to go the the bathroom alot?
You are actually pretty early to be feeling movement, especially with a first baby. We usually tell mothers to expect to feel something between 16 and 22 weeks, so you are ahead of schedule in that department.
I just hate to have you so scared and upset when there are still so many unanswered questions. If there is some chance that you are pregnant you need a blood test, an internal exam and an ultra sound. If you are as far along as you think you are there will be a clear image from an ultrasound and a clear heartbeat. Yet none of these things were done. There is something missing here.
Please make a telephone call to the doctors office and tell them what your concerns are, see what they say. If, for instance you tell them that you have not had a period in 15 - 16 weeks they ARE going to take it seriously and do some more testing. You need to go back to the doctor and get some answers. It is important that you find out one way or the other. If you are pregnant then you need to start taking really good care of yourself. It is essential that you eat well and take prenatal vitamins, but first you need some additional information. Call the doctors office and talk to the nurse if you can not get through to the doctor and insist on getting some answers. You have a right to know why you have not had a period for so long if you are not pregnant! I know this seems like a lot to deal with and you may want to get your parents to help you with this since they are aware of the situation.
Feel free to write to me if you feel like you have questions that you did not get answers to, I will be happy to help you.
Talk to your parents again and tell them what you have said on here, they love you and I know that they want what is best for you.
Take care honey and try not to worry. Everything will turn out for the best. Your best help here should come from your parents and you need to be honest with them and tell them what your concerns are. Talk to them about the things I have mentioned and they will surely see that more needs to be done.
I hope to hear from you.
Blessings

The amount of water you have drunk shouldnt really affect the test, but you should really try and do the test first thing in the morning, when your urine is most potent. This is the most reliable time to get a test.

I would either buy a home pregnancy test and do it at home in the morning or go back to the doctors and try and get a appt for 1st thing in the morning.

You can start to feel the baby kicking from 15 weeks, but even then most people dont feel it till later on, the line down your tummy is a sign of pregnancy and so is the stretch marks and tiredness. I really do think you should go and drop into your local well woman of family planning clinic, they will do all of the necessary checks and help in anyway possible. Theses places are also private and confidential so no need to worry about your privacy.

I wish you all the luck in the world, and hope that you get through this fine. You are very young and not keeping the baby would be understandable considering your age.

It's possible that you watered down your urine, causing your test to be negative. Have you taken an over-the-counter pregnancy test? I would recommend doing that. Take it first thing in the morning, and don't drink a lot of liquids before bedtime. Your HCG levels should be more concentrated this way so you'll get an accurate result.

If a urine test still comes out negative, I would ask your doctor for a blood test.

You can feel early movements at 16 weeks, yes. Usually, they're more of a fluttering than a hard kick, but you could be feeling fetal movement if you are, in fact, pregnant.

Please go to a doctor soon and get a Blood Test done. There are two types of blood tests:

1. A quantitative blood test measures the exact amount of hCG in the blood and
2. A qualitative hCG blood test gives a simple yes or no answer to whether you are pregnant or not.

A blood test at anytime is more accurate than home pregnancy test. A quantitative blood test, usually called a beta hCG test, measures the exact units of hCG in the blood. That means it will detect even the most minimal level. There is another type of blood test sometimes called a qualitative hCG test. This is a test that simply gives a yes or no answer to whether you are pregnant.

Wishing You all the Luck with Good Wishes! :)

Go see your doc and take another test. I hope for your sake your not pregnant we had to have electronic babies at school for a week its as close as you can get to the real thing and it was hard. It wouldn't hurt to tell your parents or the one u trust the most they will find out eventually and you will need their support and love. There could be other things that would cause this and some people can actually trick their body into showing signs of pregnancy. Good luck i hope you get the result you want.

If you think you are pregnant and you took yourself to the doctors for a test you should have told the doctor the symptoms you have been having. Doctors are there to help you. Water won't affect the hcg levels especially if you think you are 15-16 weeks!!!! And yes you can feel fetal movement at that age as well. Go back to the Doctor and tell them everything and sort out your situation. If you are having sex, you will have to deal with this situation in person with a health professional not by the internet!

It really sounds like your pregnant. I don't see how water would make it negative i have had two kids and i drank lots of water and never had a test come up negative. I would call a OBGYN soon and have blood work done just to make sure. And it's possible to feel movement at 15-16 weeks. Call your doctor and make an appointment for blood tests. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!

Umm, yeah I think that you kinda need to either go to the store and get a test or go back to the dr. I mean have you had any more periods? And yes, you can feel fetal movements as early as 16 weeks. I mean has your parents not noticed this bodily change of yours? You should definitely do something now, especially if you are pregnant, you need to be having regular prenatal appt. and on prenatal vitamins.

With those symptoms you probably are prego. The amount of water you drank it doesn't matter it would still be positive or negative. You need to go to the drugstore and pick up a pregnancy test one that says pregnant or not pregnant. This way your not depending on a line. Definitely would advise you to go to the obgyn doctor someone who specializes in this field. So you can be sure that you are or not. Family doctors are not specialized in this field. Good luck!!
