ozric tentacles- check out erpland; spacey psychedelic multi- instrumental music that rocks out plenty

porcupine tree- amazing

opeth- progressive death metal, look at their later albums, both hauntingly beautiful and heavy as funk

ween- especially the mollusk... a watery concept album that throws everything in the bag; sweet pop, pink floyd psychedelia, spaghetti western, speed metal, country, irish drinking songs included. great, crazy band.
