My shoulder really hurts me, I woke up every hour on the hour last night! I think it might be tendinist of the rotarycuff or something. My elbow also seems to be frozen on the other arm. Could I be sleeping on my arms funny? I also play Japanese taiko drums which can be disscribed as martial arts mixed with really big drums...could that also be a problem?

That absolutely could be the problem. Try a Glucosamine/Chrondroiton supplement. Here's a link for the brand I use & swear by. In the meantime, eat & take either aspirin or motrin.
Good luck!

You can also try taking a warm bath or a heating pad to help loosen up & relax the muscles.

I think your problem sounds like you have RSI ( repetitive strain injury) You need to consult with a physician first to exclude other factors. It is possible that a physiotherapist may be needed to help you return to health. I suggest you think about your activity as it may cause you greater damage if you continue to indulge in this pastime.
