I think the best answer chosen by the asker is better. Because the asker alone knows if the answerer answered the quetion he/she meant or not..

Depends on whether your are the asker really. If you resolve your own question you get 3 points. If it goes to vote you get none. The person with the best answer gets 10 points either way

The purpose of asking questions on Y A & Q is to get answers. The asker should be able to sellect the best answer.

The best is when you get a best answer by the ask-er, because that's the main point of answering. It helps a lot (points-wise) to also get as many "thumbs up" ratings as possible -up to 50 can be counted as points to the best answerer.

I like to be picked best by the asker. Means they paid attn to their question and liked yours best. Just more fulfilling.

I much prefer to get chosen by asker! Then you get rated stars for your answer and a remark, whereas through votes you don't even see who appreciated your answer or anything!
