I use a laptop and have a wireless network in my house. My network is secured and I get kicked off like every 30 mins to an hour. What is going on? What can I do to stop this?

This happened to me the other week and the problem resolved after I just turned off the modem and turned it back on again.
There might be some interference in the signal. Are there any other devices operating in the area that might be putting out an electromagnetic signal like your wireless does?

try to update the frameware on your wireless or on the network card if that doesnt solve the problem then try to remove the security see if drops if it does there is somthing wrong with the router, which i would l say need the firmware to be updated, also you can try uninstalling the network card and install it again, you need to have the CD( also known as driver for it before you do that , to be on the safe side

If you are using Internet security, check your personal network and firewall settings. Mine is set to automatically block any computer not in the trusted list, make sure your computer is checked as trusted.
