Sacagawea is a good answer.
I was thinking Amelia Earhart, although she didn't discover any new territory, but she did do something no other woman had done.
Also I was thinking of pioneers like Marie Curie.

If you're talking about olden female explorers from the ancient days like magelan and all that (from the age of exploration) there a couple that come to mind...

There are alot of exporers that are modern....
