The best service that I have ever had was at the Cattleman's Steakhouse in OKC, OK. I went into the more expensive side of it, you know where they have you taste the wine, cut your steak right in front of them to make sure that it is cooked to your liking, etc, and I had just got off of work with the sanitation dept and had not taken a shower yet. Still had a baseball cap on and everything. They treated me like I belonged there and never once asked me to leave. The bill came to $75 for 2 adults and 1 kid, plus wine, 1 Jack and Coke, and tip. They never even questioned me to make sure that I could afford it. I liked that and when ever I go back to OKC to eat, that is where I stop. And the FOOD WAS GREAT.

My husband and I had reservations to go out to have tea at a fancy hotel. My cat died, so he went to pick up the food and tea and bring it home instead, 'cause I was just way too broken up to go out anyplace. We're regulars there, so the woman packed up everything very nicely, threw in plenty of extras, and didn't even charge us a penny for any of it! That was in January 2005.
Next time we went, we tipped her what the previous order would have cost.
We get excellent service there, and did even before this happened. We always tipped five or ten bucks over the standard that is added automatically to the bill.

On our cruise for our 25th anniversary, when we returned to our cabin, the towels were always made into animal shapes or something nautical. Really cute, but that's the standard, I think.

The best meal I have ever enjoyed was at a place which, I believe, is no more. It was called The Bacchanal and was at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. The meal included ten(?) courses, all the wine and champagne you could drink as well as a back rub from a well-endowed waitress (this was before I was married of course). American gluttony at its finest.
My favorite mainstream restaurant is McCormick and Schmick's, it is a chain of seafood restaurants.

I remember that it was in Dubai, Traders Hotel. I left my room and allow the room attendant to clean it up.
When I returned, I not only find a clean and tidy room, the most amazing part was that my pyjamas that I left hanging on the bathroom door knob was neatly folded and place nicely on my bed.
I never imagine that the room attendant would do something like that as her main duty is to clean rooms. I regret not getting the name of that room attendant but I wrote a complimentary letter hoping that he/ she knew I appreciate his/ her tiny gesture.
