USA if you include Alaska and Hawahii islands.. monaloa etc (spelling!!), there are some islands off the west cost of alaska that are permanently active, Mt St Helens is getting active again and the volcano east of seatle is well over due an erruption, not to mention the entire yellow stone national park is the caldera of planet earths only super volcano if cat that is due an eruption and even now the lakes are shifting their mass due to build up of magma under them..the north shores are receeding and the south are being flooded and the lake bed gets distorted...evidence of this can be seen in the forests south of the lakes being submerged, whislt in the north the water is moving back leaving exposed lake bed for new veg to grow on....mexico has some occasional trooper ones but they are less frequent...however, cant remember the name of it..but there was one that errupted last century and started as nothing more that a crack in the cround but within mounths a mountain appeared no joke..just wish i could remember its name... a farmer found it..cos it started in one of his fields!!

INDONESIA in the Pacific Ocean has the most volcanoes that are active. Since the early 1800’s, there have been over 600 eruptions from INDONESIA’s 70 volcanoes

There are about 50 extinct volcanoes in the Auvergne region of FRANCE. The volcanoes have not erupted for over 6,000 years.

I think Iceland is the hottest country in terms of volcanic activity.
A great area with dormant volcanos, which i know, is the Eifel, a low mountain range in western Germany (parts in Belgium and Luxemburg).

For a list of other geological hotspots follow the link.

Try Naples, Italy. The Vesuvius is a dormant volcano (careful, it's not extinct!), plus it's near one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Indonesia has the most volcanoes in the world. Of which I would imagine you would find active and inactive volcanoes.

A dormat volcano?

Don't fancy that, burn marks up the hall.

You'd come hotfoot with the post wouldn't you?
