I am, and the older I get the more it does bother me, especially when strangers think the rotten apple\s are "kewl" and they don't know I'm a decendent of the person\people.
I have several rotten apples in my family tree, going back several hundred years. Unfortunately, related by blood. When I was old enough to hear and read about them I wished I'd been adopted.
I know the past is the past and there's nothing I can do to change it, but I take great offense that both sides of my late Father's family got their land, titles, and servants by being crueller, more brutal, more ruthless than anyone else in their ancestral lands. The ones I've read about enjoyed their umm "work" waaaay too much.

Does Aileen Wuornos count? She was a serial killer along the highways of Florida. Does it bother me? No, because I didn't do anything wrong, just being related is no crime.

Yes, and no it does not bother me to be the neice of a woman who poisened her husband to death and hid his body in a grain silo and got away with it for 30 years until she died too. It gives me some ideas. lol

No, but a member of my family has fought in every war that the U.S.A. has been a part of. I am pretty proud of that history.
