Seriously, my son who is 12 does not like to wear underwear. He'll wear his pyjama pants or boxers when at home and I'm wondering if in the long term it's going to make his you-know-what saggy or something.

You should ask someone a little more medically informed than the group here... As much as people loved the "humans were born naked argument", I bet many of them do not like the sagginess that is extremely apparent with females in such tribes.

I did hear that no support long term can cause problems, but I am not sure if it was accurate or not. So I would ask your doctor next time you have to go in. It's something that can wait till your next appointment for however (no need to rush off)

No, underwear is not mandated by Mother Nature. Most males around the world don't wear underwear, it is only a practice in some of the more westernized countries or countries that have adopted western ways. He is a curious, growing boy, if he is comfortable without underwear, that's fine. Now if he is running around bare-butted in the house, then he may need to be told to cover up as he begins to develop.

That depends. Do you wear a striped g-string with a polka dot bra? Do you have blatantly visible panty lines? Do you wear white yoga pants outside after Labour Day? If yes to any of the above, yupyup you're doing it wrong.

Nope, he will be perfectly fine. Boxers don't offer any "support" anyway, they mearly put an extra layer between the skin and a metal zipper.

If it really bothers you, have a male member of your family talk to him about what is "proper" in your culture. Of use the saved money on undies toward a new gaming system for him,

Lady, humankind were not evolved wearing CLOTHES! In the grand scheme of things, clothing is a brand new concept. His "you know what" will not shrivel up--and if it hangs lower as a result of no confinement, I'm sure he'll enjoy that even more, since it's every man's obsession. Boxers don't provide support for athletics, but for lounging around the house I don't see what your problem might be.

No it is a fallacy that not wearing underwear will make your part droop. There is absolutely no negative effect of not wearing underwear (unless his pants tear lol)

Many people I do that.
Im 14 and I do it.
More guys prefer boxers over briefs. Less confinement.
If it's comfortable for him, then let him be.
In fact, I have heard of a study that showed that men who wore boxers or nothing actually had higher penis growth rates, but they were very small addition.

boxers are underware... my mom made me wear tighty whities until I was about 12 and old enough to say I WANT TO WEAR BOXERS! I hated wearing tighty whities....

My son is 10, and does the same thing. I asked the pediatrician about it, and SHE said that as long as *I* have no problem with him "going commando", it's fine. There are NO physical 'effects' of not wearing underwear.
