the 'nylon' undergoes many process of manufacturing that renders its excellent quality & durabilty. and, obviously, it includes the marketing & other misc costs...

take vinyl for an example, in the case of LV monogram products. it is also expensive because if you keep the item for 2 years (or more) in the closet, the vinyl don't get withered.
if its a normal vinyl item, due to inadequate moisture, the vinyl will flakes. but because the (LV) vinyl had gone thru' special process, the vinyl still holds on even after you :
1) accidentally poured high content alcohol onto it (it won't get leave a burnt patch)
2) accidentally burn it with a lighter (for few seconds)

but for most of us, we only use a certain model of the designer bag for just awhile...& we move on for new ones.

It's all in the name...
I just ordered a black nylon bag from Avon - on sale for $9.99. Youcan't beat that! So what if there isn't somebody else's name on it.
Keep your eyes open when you're shopping. Before long there will be plenty of look-a-likes in the stores for a lot less, no matter what you are looking for.
That's what I like about MarieClaire magazine, and the Splurge vs Steal pages. They show you the high priced designer fashions, paired with a paired with a similar, more affordable version.

It's because people pay more to parade around with a name on their body. It's meant to impress those around them that they had enough money to buy that item, which isn't really worth that much at all. It's the same with Harley-Davidson & Green Bay Packer stuff. It's not made any better than the stuff without a name. It's only made to impress. Pretty sad, huh? <*)))><

Brand affects the quality of products and finally its price. Prada is a best brand of nylon brand. For further details please check the link in the source box. Good luck.

The little brand name sewn on the bags are a status symbol. They're a way for people to not-so-subtley show off how rich they are.

Yep, people pay more for a name brand. personally, I could care less, and I flatly refuse to carry or wear anything with a logo large enough to be seen/recognized more than 10 feet away. I am NOT a BILLBOARD. Hell, they should be paying us advertising royalties for space, like they do with race car drivers.
