Give it time and it will heal. The tongue recovers quickly.
Milk might help a little.

Luckily the mouth is one of the fastest healing parts of the body so the pain should be gone soon. Until then, rinse your mouth with warm salty water. Not too much salt (not brine) just enough to make a saline-like solution. This will sooth the pain. This is also good for mouth ulcers, lie bumps and minor throat irritations (with no infection). Hope you feel better.

Try taking small sips of water...and let it just set in you mouth for a little while before swallowing. I've found this to help me. Yeah, been there done that too. It can be sore, that's for sure. But that worked best for me. Close to room temp is good...not too cold.

Chloraseptic? Either that or let an aspirin dissolve in your mouth and swish it around for a while (it acts as a local anesthetic too)

Try rinsing it with water; cool water.
Or, eat a piece of soft bread. Sometimes that takes the sting out.
