I know!
Its OK to dislike a person with darker skin, that doesn't make you a racist!
I wish more people like you could be on Question time/bb news and all the rest as these idiots who think that because you take the piss out of someones accent you are a racist.

I havn't watched any of the episodes but I have seen clips of some of whats been said, the accent thing is not racism, the 'slums' thing was not racist, I took this to mean that Jade was saying to Shilpa that she needs to come down off of her high horse and see the 'real' world, the poverty and things around us, I do not think she meant 'go back to the slums of india' the comment from Danielle about 'she should f**k off home' I think was racist, when she got pulled up about it in the diary room and they confronted her with what she'd said she looked like a rabbit caught in the head lights, she knew what she had said was racist. They are bullying Shilpa, thats obvious enough, from what I have seen so far the only racist things that have gone on is the 'white trash' talk from Jermaine and the comment from Danielle. I am not racist, no buts.

That appears to be the case
Racism like sexism etc is caused by extremist.
Most normal people wouldnt even acknowledge such a thing.
I have many friends from differnet cultures, backgrounds and religeons. None of us see each other as different.
I have some friends who dont see themsevles as Black but as darked skinned and myself as pale skinned, which is only used if we had to describe each other. But some of these people highlight the fact they are different, they have a community leader and they require the banning of names and items that they think relate to them. The words Black and white in themselves are seen to be opposite in peoples minds, yet we are only talking skin colour. I am welsh and could play the racist card on several occasions, but is just being rather silly. If I leave a door open and somebody says to me, were you born in a barn, do I take that as a racist comment. Jade said something about living in a shack. If this was said to a white person, nobody would take any notice. People do still live in shacks or under newspaper on the streets. so just because it was said to an Indian lady it has to be racist.
Sorry but it is just crazy and a bunch of extremists is fuelled by the media and people talking about it. I am probably now seen as racist for even mentioning the subject, but this couldnt be further from the truth

no we are not.minority groups play that card all the time.and a report late last year.found that whites were subject to.racist
attacks more than any other group.where were the liberal
dick he*ds.i did not see then screaming and shouting about it.
PS
the report was done by the government over three years.
and a similar report by the police said the same.so the
government.and the rest of the people who.done all these
reports.must be racist?.and the findings were taking from crimes
committed against whites people.

I don't know the context of what you mean when you say bullied. It could be on a playground, it could be in a corporate office. But wrong is wrong regardless of the percentage of the population of the people involved in an incident.
Many aspects of the American system is racist. Some of the people are from the bottom to the top. I guess if racism affects everybody within the course of a month, that would make us racist so then we would be.

We assume it's racist because although the perpetrators don't have the guts to be racist to Shilpa's face, they make racially derogative statements behind her back but still on camera - ignorance is no excuse.
There have been comments about the way Indians live their lives, their diets and so on and the overall mood has been of a put down.

It's people who are racist, not nations. Every nation around the world has a certain number of its citizens who are racist. And I don't think that all the laws in the world will change that. The only thing that will change that is when people's hearts change, and see all people as humans, and not races. <*)))><

I take it that you have suffered from racial abuse throughout your life, and therefore are best placed to judge when something is or is not racist?
I'm not saying that the bullying of Shilpa Shetty was racist, but just because someone isn't using overt racist language, doesn't mean they aren't being racist.

No minority is being bullied except by a small handful of nutjobs who don't know how to play nice, so no, we as a nation are not being racist.
