Does the ps3 play xvid files off a usb key??? Do you have to download the codec?

you do not have to have a codec

PS3 contains DivX / XviD playback

as for the usb key : / ... just try, it doesn't hurt your ps3 if it doesn't work

why not just copy it to the hard drive?
