It looks like they're being incredibly cruel and insensitive to certain contestants by personally making fun of them by refering to them as "bush babies," etc., and then ridiculing them even further when they leave.

Am I the only one that found this behavior inexcusable and extremely disgusting?
I saw Simon and the other two in an entirely new light.

Perhaps Rosie O'Donnell is right about Paula Abdul.

people who participate in american idol know what to expect from the celebs - its all part of the show. if you don't like listening to it, turn the telly off. if you don't like receiving the judges' comments, don't be a contestant.

To be honest, I have mixed emotions. We all know that things like Idol and the Donald/Rosie feud are designed to boost ratings.

Since this is Season 6 for American Idol, we've already seen many times over the criticisms and insults the judges bestow. So the fact that they are continuing to do it should be no surprise to anyone, least of all the contestants.

Now, does this exonerate or forgive their callousness? Certainly not, but the fact that we continue to watch, allows them to continue.

And, I really think that at least half of these contestants know darn well they can't sing -- but to them it's worth "their 5 minutes of fame" and the possibility of being on national TV. Even greater would be the chance of being another "William Hung".

I think that it is a little bit cruel sometimes, but I also think that people know what to expect when they go on that show to audition. The judges may go a little bit to far sometimes, but they do get the job done. Only the best of the best survive to make it to the finals.

I think we can expect that kind of attitude from Simon and he actually sounds funny. But it seems like Randy and Paula are trying to hard to be like simon. Randy's always making those mean comments which aren't funny. But then again, if you look at the nuts that audition...
