The German, I liked him since he was a rookie even though they both brought a new element to the game as far as big men are concerned, but Dirk can straight up shoot the rock and is very hard to guard.

Kevin Garnett is better
Garnett has just played on sorry teams.Dallas always surrounds Dirk with lots of talent so he looks better.

But on Defensive side of the ball garnett is better dirk is just a
okay defender.

Garnett is a beast on the boards, Dirk is just okay he gets rebounds that come to him.

Garnett is better on the offensive side of the ball also. Garnett gets post play with his back to the basket game and he has a nice 15 foot jumper.

Dirk is a 7 foot jump shooter he doesn't post up he doesnt have a back to the basket game. He hits 15 foot jumpers and 30 foot jumpers. which isn't bad but in crunch time u need a post player to open up shots for other guys. Dirk doesnt do that he needs guys to get him the ball so he can get shots.

However to dirk credit last year against San antonio in the playoffs he drove to the basket at a crucial time he miss the shot but got fouled which is something i never seen him do in big games. So Dirk is very good and getting more aggressive also so he could pass garnett if he develops some more.

If Kevin garnett played with Steve nash or jason terry or any of the dallas teams lately we would be talking a ring on kevin garnett finger.

If I were to start a franchise I would pick nowitzki for mainly one reason: He is the toughest matchup in basketball. I think everyone is dwelling on the numbers that KG has put up in the past, and yes, they are very impressive, but he has to put up those numbers for his team to even think about winning. Dirk can score 24 pts. 8 rebs and they will most likely win. If you put KG on Dallas, do you think his numbers would be as impressive? Absolutely not because of the talent around him. And what if you put Dirk on the Wolves. Would his numbers go up? Absolutely because they have no other offensive option and he would be relied upon for more rebounding. So you cant say anything about statistics. On the defensive side of the ball the edge goes to Garnett, but on offense, I think it is hands down, no question Dirk. Overall, Dirk is the better player, but I would be happy with either.

Nowitski

Garnett, has kept the Wolves from being a laughing stock for years. His numbers very similiar he has more rebs, assists, and blocks per game than dirk. Difference in ppg is 2.5, and fg% is .021. Dirk gets more attention due to team performance. KG is a great player with minimal overall success.

in the defensive side, Garnett is better (block shots, rebounds, etc.) a threat to an opponent that is going to the basket.

in the offensive side, Nowitski is better (three pionters, perimeter shots, etc.) can easily score on anybody against him.

for now the attention is in Nowitski because of his team's performance.

As much as I like "KG" I would have to say that Nowitzki is playing better individual ball and better team ball than Garnett and therefore that makes him the better player and probably a very strong candidate for MVP this year.

I would say Nowitzki because I'm a fan of his but in true retrospect I would have to say Garnett.
