i was going to be on time but....i couldnt be...because i had to....stop and get gas or i would have ran out of gas and then not made it at all...

yes a poor one is better than none. at least if you have a poor excuse it shows you cared enough to try think of one.

Usually no excuse at all is better. My excuse is "the devil made me do it".

some imagination is always needed... woke up one morning 2 hours after I was supposed to start work...
called my boss and said" don't pay the ransom I've escaped!" every time he saw me the rest of the day he burst out laughing..

i just look pure and inncent and say ' i dont know what ur talking about' and if that does not work blink a bit till my eyes get watery. aaaahh sympathy, u cant beat it for getting away with things
