It was disgised as a tax raise on the big bad oil company. But the cost to be passed on to us. Its really a tax rais on the working man.

Hey G

Your lack of biz sense shows. Oil companies are not making a bigger % than before. Total profit is up because volume is up. YOU WILL PAY for this tax increase. Its the right thing to do for the company.

Only a liberal that is deaf, dumb and blinded by his utopian faith in socialism and fascism to solve the problem of inequality that is nothing more than a market reality based on the fact of scarcity could delude themselves into believing taxes would not increase quickly when the Democrats came to power...

Thank you for allowing me to know that I am not the only sane one left. I thought I was alone. I thought the brainwashing was complete and I was going to be the victim of a purge. At least now I know there will be more than one victim of the purge to come.

http://www.uuforum.org/deficit.htm There is a bill to be paid for the behavior of the Bush administration. In six years of plundering the National Treasury, they have amassed more debt than all other administrations combined! Click on the link. If Republicans like those in the oil business think that they will not have to pay for this, they are sadly mistaken. That is why the previous Republican Congress passed on doing the Budget, instead choosing to leave it for the Democrats to solve. They knew the bill was due, and did not want to add raising taxes to their other problems going into the mid-term elections. The cost of paying this down is enormous, and we can only hope it does not turn us into a third world country in the process, for Bush and company have sold us to the likes of the Chinese and the Saudis. Let us hope they treat us fairly when we have to work for them.

uh... it's making the OIL COMPANIES ACTUALLY START PAYING TAXES! Bush cut them down to nothing?

have you seen their earning reports?

sorry we want them to ACTUALLY PAY TAXES... on some of the GREATEST PROFITS IN THE HISTORY OF BUSINESS...

sorry we think they should actually HAVE SOME RESPONSIBILITY FOR AMERICA and think they shouldn't get a free ride?

I seriously doubt it will be passed on... since they were making all time huge profits... it will just cut into their HUGE WINDFALLS a little bit...

if they pass on the cost... in order to keep their all time high earnings... then it's just the poster child for what's wrong with America, yet again...

why don't we just cut all wealthy people's taxes to zero and let the poor people pay them... since they all just pass it on to the working man anyway... right?

that's some kind of logic you have there... Republicans love your "let the rich bear no responsibility" attitude.

and serously... if you believe they will just pass it on... why don't you care that they refuse to take responsibility and actually give back some of the largest profit in history?

why do Republicans always make excuses and take the side of the rich? only because they offer jobs? so that makes us beholden to them for everything apparently?

It is worse than you say. It provides a big DISINCENTIVE to the development of American oil & gas fields. Kind of makes you wonder whose side some people are on. I'm not surprised at the speed with which the tax incentive was enacted. it's what Dems do best.

Kinda like us funding this illegitimate war...get used to it, the man always brings us down unless you are rich. The answer to your question is yes...someone needs to pay down this debt created by this administration!

Taxes, embryonic stem cell funding, curtailing of free speech. It's a mad cap roller coaster ride of power-drunk liberalism.

Yes. I did expect it this fast and there will be many more surprises. They should be directing all the monies to alternative energy but that would be cutting their own throat, wouldn't it now?
