Ok now that I have your attention......
We know all or at least some of our personal faults, right?
Well if you were locked in a room with two people (non gender/ religion/race/colour specific), and of those two people one was always pointing out your faults and completly ignoring their own, while the other always complimented you and told you good you were.
Which of these people would you prefer to be near all the time?

I'd have to go with the one saying nice things. No one is meaner to me then me and I'm always rage-filled so the other one would be in serious danger in a locked room with me.I need calm to be calm.

Very interesting question.

My first thought was that I would want to be around the complimentor. After some thought though, I realized that I would need to hear my faults from someone as well.

At first praise and compliments would be encouraging and uplifting, after a time I think it would seem contrived or manufactured -fake.

I think I would spend time with both of them, first listening to the fault finder to be aware of my weaknesses and then I would hurry up and run over to the encourager for a self esteem boost.

Very thought provoking question!

We are humans, we are not perfect, we have faults but we don't want someone pointing out these faults, specially as they also have the faults. I would prefer to be near the person who always compliments me, even if they are sometimes wrong.

Of course the one who didn't make you feel like crap 24/7. No one wants or needs that. Well...let me amend that. The only people who want it feel the deserve being treated that way because that's what they're used to. Nice things like compliments, they might feel they are not worthy of such things or the person is lying to them or only saying them because of a hidden agenda.

Well, I would prefer to be near the positive one....BUT...if the one that pointed out my "faults"....was actually constructive and positive in doing so...then I would have to listen to them I feel, also....and I am not against any race, religion, gender....lol....

Well obviously I would want to be with the person that complimented me. Kind of makes you wonder why so many people get into relationships with others that are so negative or abusive to them doesn't it.

I would at first, put down conditions or boundries, of course after about 10 minutes of listening to them both. Then from there they can decide if they want to be near be all the time.

Good Luck

the one always pointing out my faults because even if they dont point out their own faults, i will benefit from them. Knowing my faults will help me grow. the other one will tell me that i was good even if it wasnt and theres no point. A real response

pointing the faults.. so you can improve. If all you hear is compliment, there will be no progress, development, maturity. you'll never achieve enlightenment nor self-awareness
