Terrorism is not new, and even though it has been used since the beginning of recorded history it can be relatively hard to define. Terrorism has been described variously as both a tactic and strategy; a crime and a holy duty; a justified reaction to oppression and an inexcusable abomination. Obviously, a lot depends on whose point of view is being represented. Terrorism has often been an effective tactic for the weaker side in a conflict. As an asymmetric form of conflict, it confers coercive power with many of the advantages of military force at a fraction of the cost. Due to the secretive nature and small size of terrorist organizations, they often offer opponents no clear organization to defend against or to deter.

Terrorism is a act of violence usually by extremist's of religious or philosophical ideologies. It is when fear is used to scare people to do there bidding. It is not limited to Muslim jihads as most people think. These atrocities have also been committed by people from all walks of life. Recently Alquada and the Taliban have been the centered terrorist groups. But there are many more in alot of different countries and all over the world.

Sorry if I spelled alquada wrong hard word to spell.

Dear Poster,

I really hope Im not doing your school work for you but according to this very outdated webster dictionary sitting on (my friends dad's)

desk it states terror as being " to frighten; to menace v. to fill with fear. intense; extreme; horror

So if you put a on that I would and its only my op/ to do this on a grand scale.

The world has changed so much since 1987 and what we felt was safe and secure is all jumbly and scarey.

I hope this post reaches you in peace and remember in kindness and love beats a heart of true heros.xox

May (You) never exprience terrorism and stay well and keep asking as many questions as your mind can think of!
