married. We are waiting to have sex till we are married.. However, we havent decided on a birth control.. The pill, the patch, and the depo shot all seem to have many side effects, including loss of labido and gaining weight... I really would rather not wear a condom.... personal experience with birth control of all kinds would be very welcome!!

Yeah, use a condom, bro. most Spermicide burns too much.

Diaphragm, for her works too, but it has to be maintained. because there's risk of infection. Condom, carefully used is safe, and easy. Not careful, use, you got problems.

There are typically what is it 5 days prior to her ovulatino when she is fertile, if she is a healthy female with regular cycles.

Best advice go to your unit clinic, talk to your doc, ask him / her. They might get you pamphlets and such, unless you are in the big sandbox. Luck. See ya in the world.

First of all, no to depo! Almost everyone I know that has been on it has had major weight gain and cannot lose the weight now. I only know of one person who was on depo and didn't gain weight and she was only on it for one term (one shot = 3 months). As for the pill or the patch, that isn't up to you but your soon to be wife. Some woman have adverse reactions to the pill and the patch...myself I never gained weight from the pill and never tried the patch. But both of my sister can't take the pill or use the patch because the hormones effect them emotionally. So if your fiance has no problem with the pill and is willing to take it...that's great. But if she doesn't want to, you need to respect that and use a condom. Since you probably haven't had sex in a while or at all depending on if you are a virgin...the condom isn't going to be an issue. I went through high school and beyond using both the condom and the pill and it was still pleasurable for both parties concerned. Your only other option is sex without penetration (oral or touch) or abstinence. Good luck and it's not forever if you do have to use a condom.

Well, I was on the pill for 3 years. I did everything right. I took it on time and never forgot to take it. Then after I was married, I stopped taking my pills. A few months later, I got pregnant. The longer you have the birth control in your system, the harder it'll be for you to get pregnant. Now, with the pill, I did gain a lil bit of weight, but its managable. Maybe talk with her female doctor and see what he/she suggests for the two of you and your lifestyle.
