Yes... really... for 60 years and going strong.
But ask yourself this: what is there to be gained by winning the pride of your parents? Isn't it more important to remain honest to yourself and to them before anything else?
Trying to win the pride of parents can lead kids, teens and adult children astray in some cases and that's not worth the loss to either child or parent....
Pride is a stupid emotion to use as a yardstick of ones worth.

My dad always said that I was his "last hope" so I guess I let him down because I got pregnant at 19 and had my daughter and never finished college (but I do have my own business). My daughter just graduated summa *** laude from UCF in December so maybe that makes up for it.
Neither of my kids are a disappointment to me!

While they were living, they were very proud of me and my family. I had the best parents in the whole world. No kidding! We were truly a close and happy family.

Im going to a state college from a community college as a junior, so only two more years and studying to be an accountant...so yeah, i know they are proud of me.

My mom says she is proud of me, but I think she just can't handle the fact that I am such a loser.

Yes they are. All they ever really asked of their children is that they be good, responsible human beings and that they be happy. I feel I am both...and my parents are very happy about it.

My answer is yes they are proud
but it took many years to get here
Have I let them down? yes, But I have grown up
and have no more let downs, ( through there eyes)
Now, I only let myself down !

well they say they are....lol...but who knows...in this day anyone who mangage to stay out of jail or off the streets then someone should be proud of them...cuz life just aint like it used to be

i try my best to keep em proud, but there are some things in my life, that if they found out about, they will hate me!!

They damn well better be.... I've busted my @ss here...
I am sure they are, I am gainfully employed, nice house yada yada yada... far cry from the ditch pig I could have been..
But then again, life is about choices.
