my class is going to perform a sketch next month. we now have nothing on minds and need the storyline, dialogue, plot and so on. it should be a simple sketch, ie no special effect, and yet amusing to catch everyone's attention.

First, "sketch" is fine, if that's what you're doing. If you're doing a skit, then it's not so okay. A skit and a sketch are two very different types of productions.
Second, any sketch that runs twenty minutes has run at least ten minutes too long. I would suggest going to the library and finding some good, short one-act plays. These are a third type of production that should meet your criteria very neatly.

Do a newscasters sketch at the desks and deliver the fake news.
Saturday Night Live lives off this sketch.

you could act out CPR while singing OLD Mac Donald...it is a quick song and goes with the CPR rhythm.
Have one person on stage lying down out of the light...Have the spot light follow one person onto the stage singing Old Mac Donald..then have more people come out just talking saying bla bla bla when.they he see the person they all run...the one person keeps singing...one goes to check on the person on the ground ...here is the parts of CPR...check if the area is safe, shake the person to see if he is alert...yell out..."Call 911 and get the ARD, that is what you say now the whole line do not change it to just call 911...you have to tell someone to get the defibulator.
do the head tilt chin lift, check for breathing, give 2 quick breaths, check for pulse. (Compressions now it is 30 keep the beat to OLD Mac Donnald ) Start compressions count of 30 should not be longer then 23...it is about 17 to 18 seconds...then do head tilt and chin lift and gives 2 breaths this should not take longer then 10 seconds. Start again ...when person recovers...and in your skit they will turn them on the side and pat them on the back...because you are suppose to put them on their side afterward....then have everyone pat each other on their backs...as a lasting reminder...the person stops singing Old Mac Donald and starts singing ...i do not know what but a happy song like Happy days are here again...or something you like.

Have one where you say a bunch of cuss words/shout at someone for doing something wrong. Then it turns out you were the one who did it wrong, and say sorry.

It'd get attention
