Everytime you come across a pc problem you try to solve it yourself. One way is to use the Knowledge Database Microsoft has, or you can google the problem and find solutions that way. Also there are classes you can take in community colleges. Get to know people who have knowledge too and learn from them.

Be on the computer for long. Ask your friend who is conversant with computers reg what you want in the computer and to accomplish the same and try that out. With regular working on computer and trying to do something new always by getting guidance is the only way out. Reading computer books will not help much.

Depends on what your goal is. Do you want to know how it works or do you want to learn how to operate one.
People who ask questions like this and don't find it out for themselves have no business in computer science.
You want to know what computers are all about the easiest way is learn C. Then you can expand your knowledge from there.
