one of your questions i can give a 'proper' answer to, Pondlife...i have an old hip replacement joint...i use it as a paperweight....works well...maybe that is their other use....doorstops..paperweights or shoe horns...mine, however, is a paperweight...a nice shiny one....x

I don't know what they do now but when I had mine, they fused the bone together for replacement-- keep in mind though that was 21 years ago.

it depends on the hospital and by what you mean by recycled...used for study..sometimes...used for a hip again..lol..nope...at least...i hope not =-)
