Nixon wasn't framed. What he did was on the very tapes he made for himself. By todays standards, no one would give him a second look. Nixon's problem was that 1. he couldn't just admit he was wrong, and 2. He obstructed the investigation into what he did until it became a national disgrace and a real crime. If he had either said he was sorry, or burned the tapes, he never would have had to resign. The truth is, he, in effect, framed himself.

You're right of course, as always. The real story that two reporters from the Washington Post staged the whole break-in, cover-up, tapes, witnesses, further cover-up scenario from the start over a few beers one evening, never seems to reach the public's ears!
The guy on the tape definitely wasn't Nixon because every second word was an expletive, and real Republicans don't swear!

President Nixon was not framed but if he was the person who they called "Deep Throat" was a republican and he spoke to Woodward who is also a republican. Notice that the information did not come out until the election. So what was so great about him!

It was really a misbegotten idea. He covered it up and lied which propelled a petty burglary to a major issue. The Dems and the Republic are still paying for it. Net result, the total and utter polarization you see in the country. Watergate generated the Clinton persecution for another insignificant matter and it has divided the country to the point that now that we need an impeachment, we can not have it. Very sad indeed.

It was the Number 2 man in the FBI that broke the story. He is the one that blabbed. All Nixon do was try to cover it up, which makes him an accomplice after the fact.

Frame him? Nixon recorded all the evidence needed to convict him!

So you haven't listened to the Nixon tapes? Also you don't believe the man that replaced him? Man, where have you been the past 30 years?

Never a dull moment with tricky dickie. Saying he was set up is a little generous of you. As for him being a great President, well, i suppose he was an inspiration to any would be house breakers out there.

hahaha...

Clinton did it... the whole "smoking weed in England" thing was a cover... just bad enough to get Republicans off his trail...

nixon wasn't great enough to get out of a set up...

but he got revenge when he sent in his daughter, Monica Nixon (name changed to lewinsky, to avoid detection)...

hahaha
