I started smoking cig's JUST because a boy-friend TOLD me NOT to smoke and he was giving me MIXED-MESSAGES (he acted as tho he Loved me part of the time but NOT at other times; oh well; I REALLY WISHED I HAD NEVER STARTED SMOKING. ( i AM A 50 PLUS YR. OLD LADY ( I'm using my Son's name in here at the moment because I closed my Yahoo Account; have to get another one soon; best wishes; also; quitting smoking is the hardest thing i've ever had to do and I've not completely Quit, yet!; I want to quit for my grand-children and my Children; I do not want them to have to care for me - if I get Really sick due to my bad habit!

I started late in high school out of curiosity and temptation from friends. I stopped after college about 3 years ago and started again last year thanks to a naughty friend of mine. I don't regret it though. I love smoking.

My grandmother died of lung cancer 11 years ago. I house-sat for my grandfather shortly afterwards, and I found an unopened box of my granny's smokes under a cupboard. I started smoking those to feel closer to her... f*cked up I know, but that's what it was.

i started when my gf dumped me for a guy who was not better looking than me, so to speak, even if i am a 15 year-old girl back then. just got soo stressed up cos i knew that she still loved me when she kissed me goodbye before she went on a date with dat guy. i tried to persuade her not to go but i didnt suceeded. that triggers the evil inside me n it told me to try smoking. i tried, n still smokes...though i am an occasion smoker.
anyway, good luck with ur book.
