My friend had a Mustang LX 5.0 with a completely built engine (not "built" like the typical benchracer builds his engine, but legitimately built with a race block, forged reciprocating assy, ported aluminum heads, etc). He had a supercharger on the car as well, and I'd estimate it was close to 700hp because he had it into the 10's in the quarter mile on street tires at over 130mph. It was definitely a low 10 second/high 9 second capable car with the suspension setup properly and on slicks.
He drove it around on bald street tires all the time. The power wasn't even usuable, he could light the tires up on the highway from a 90mph roll. From a dead stop it just felt like you were in a paint can shaker the way it spun, wheel-hopped, vibrated and screamed.
It was by far the fastest vehicle I've ever been in (acceleration wise.)

A Lambergini Mura ... I was hitch-hiking up the hill at Watkins Glen in the early 70's. Hit about 60 in 3 seconds ... at least that's what it felt like.

i myself own a porsche 911 carrera with a turbo engine and some nitrous tankson it and a ferrari and a lambo[diablo] suzuki haybusa[bike]
lambo is fast but porsche rulz
it touches 320 in 13 secs

i had the privledge of riding in a Ford Gt40 around Laguna Seca racetrack in Monterey, Ca. for a few laps.
OMG--! lets just say THAT guy got my attention and got the invitation for coffee...
