It's already happened. This country is rapidly being turned into a police state. Then we really will go down the tubes - you ain't seen nothin' yet!

The problem is word usage. Once the word GAY meant happy and light hearted and now of course.... So freedom of speech is becoming difficult to maintain as some phrases used by older people are now offencive to some even when they were formed before the group complaining arrived here. The PC brigade would have us all think and act the same, however we are not and not liking someone can be for reasons not necessarily racial, but this is trumped up if someone feels excluded.
As a time frame I think that under Labour we have already lost our freedom of speech and it is too late.

If somebody calls a fat person fat, presumably they are. If somebody calls a person Indian, that's ok if they are Indian. It all depends if its meant as an insult. As for freedom of speech - we do not have it and we never want it. Would you be ok if somebody stood up in your town and made a speech about how fabulous it is to have sex with little children? Or how they love to torture animals? No you would want them arrested. Believe me, there are people out there who would love to have a voice, but our laws prevent it and rightly so. Freedom of speech is a crazy concept. It is bandied about as an ideal, but it can be a very offensive thing.

I think we already have. I remember the staff of Yahoo Answers was working overtime on Martin Luther King Day, deleting anything that even suggested he wasn't the second coming of Christ.

Hmmm, for someone so worried about not having a voice...you sure are speaking your mind right or wrong.
