I believe I had the same OOTP countdown on my desktop (I got mine from Leaky). I ended up removing it because I couldn't get the thing to move.
Right click on Start
Control Panel>Appearance & Themes>Change desktop background
Scroll down on the left side and click on the button that says "customize desktop"
On the top of the next screen you will see two tab buttons. Click on the one that says "web."
On this section you will see a box with a checkmark next to a line that says OOTP countdown. Unclick this box and hit "ok" on the bottom of this section.
It will now disappear.
To install items on your desktop in the future you might want to try Yahoo! Widgets. I really like them. They are fun and easy to customize, move around, and you can remove them just by right clicking on them and clicking on "remove widget". There are several for Harry Potter fans, including one that has quotes from the movies.

And if you have more than one user on your computer, each person can customize their desktop with the widgets he/she likes.

Go to Add/Remove programs. You can find it under the start menu in the Control Panel. Find where its listed and uninstall it. It seems your pretty young and inexperienced with computers. So be careful and only uninstall that exact program. If you uninstall the wrong thing you can mess up your computer. And I'm sure your parents would get really mad.

Did you attempt going into your initiate menu? attempt this: Empty your reveal screen. spectacular click on the visual reveal unit reveal screen after shutting down all your opened web content. once you spectacular click, left click on residences. Then click on computing device. you should be waiting to do away with it from there. If that would not artwork, i'm sorry, yet i don't be attentive to. OR, you may attempt happening on the backside the place all of the little icons are. possibly you will discover it there. if so, spectacular click, then left click on do away with or delete. . . .

If all else fails, do not format the hard drive!! Instead pour boiling hot molten magma on to the keyboard and watch it melt through the table.
Hope this helps :)
