As long as I told what the book was about, what difference does how long or short it makes?

Nothing as long as it was within the bounders of the report specks instructed by the teacher.

Well, the only reason some would say that short is bad, is because there would be less detail inside the report, and less information to show your understanding. For example if you only have a short sentence in response to the question and simply fulfilll the requirements, you demonstrate that this is all you know about the question. While, if you were to say write a paragraph and have several points, then you demonstrate a greater understanding of the given text and show that you have done your work.

The again this only applies once you get to grades 10, 11, and 12 especially.

If you chose though to write a short book report then as long as you fulfil the requirements that the teacher is asking for there should be no problems.

depends on the number of marks the question is of.Or maybe your teacher wants a more detailed one.
