Why can't people just answer a question without reading into it? Why all of these word games with the questions & the answers? What happened to people who could think & respond in a helpful manner, rather than condem every person who mentions ABORTION in a positive light? I'm not anti-religious, but if you don't understand an issue, why would you attack a person for their views. I would think you would want to learn through sharing in their pain & have respect for the mere fact that it is a sensitive issue. The power of creation knows no hatred, but some of you humans sure do. Why must you attack every question with the word ABORTION in it?

Hmmm. It appears that Law & Ethics is out of the range for most of them. I'm glad to see (read) that there are some people on this site who still can SEE through all this tripe 'n' gripe of the internet!!! Thanks for your input. Let's all laugh before we loose it, ok?

It's beyond me why, I have had to make that decision many years ago and it wasn't made over night either and up till then I pretty much thought it was something many women abused but I definitely know better now.

this happens because people r conditioned 2 think in a certain manner &, perhaps due to ignorance, associate some things 2 b wrong & 'antireligious', whatever b the context.

peopl think so only because abortions hv been considered as a hasty means 2 "cover up" for so long that nobody can think out of the box and consider other possibilities.

when i became pregnant with my boyfriend, i kept thinking how i wasn't mature enough to take up the responsibility of another life on my shoulders. but now, when i look at my son, i know that i cd'nt hv made a better descision. its really important 2 b responsibl for whatever u do.
but there are so many other reasons that may compel women to consider an abortion and there r so many people who eithr dont know or dont understand this.
so dont let ur self b bothered.

It's just a very hot-button issue. I don't think it can ever be discussed in a civil manner, as both sides think their argument is right.

I see abortion as a choice and a right, but I usually get many thumbs-down for that, because rapid anti-choicers are chomping at the bit to call the OP a murderer.

I think, just have respect for other people's opinion and politely disagree if you have a different opinion.

People do it out of their own ignorance, blind faith, stubbornness, and stupidity.

Without the separation between church and state, we would be just like a terrorists' country where reasonable people get attacked, tortured, and murdered. While we can give religions freedom, we can't afford to give them too much power because one can't be too religious and reasonably open-minded at the same time.

No religion convinces anyone with reasons. Otherwise, it would be called a science rather than a religion. To gain power over people, religions do unreasonable things to exploit people's fear and emotion. That's what they do, and we give them the freedom of doing that because we aren't anti-religious.

Sherryn, it is an emotion loaded subject, that's why. Many people do have very strong feelings about it, and tend to let those emotions take over.
Abortion, why not carry the child to term and give it up for adoption. "You" allowed the act to take place, so why end it just because it suddenly interferes with your way of life? To me, that is little different than saying everyone who fades when making a turn should be taken out and shot for producing a situation where an accident between 2 vehicles might happen.
No is an excellent way of not having to deal with the situation to begin with. That, or "no glove- no love" is a viable alternative. For me, to abort a developing baby, which has been proven to be discernable as a human within the first 12 weeks is just as much murder as it would be to kill any other person. If the mother has a right to kill her unborn, then why should we not have the right to kill those who become a burden on society. After all, what constitutes a burden except that it inhibits the desires of 1 person, or several. Would you care to be "aborted" should you become a burden to society? If not, then why kill the unborn just because it might be a hindrance to your way of life?

I think they do. My wife is from Eastern Europe. There abortion is not an option. It is a necessity. Americans have to much time on their hands and just need to complain. They should be thankful they have choices

Abortion is one of those issues we can talk about until we're blue in the face and still not arrive at any symptoms of agreement.

I just say "ditto" to what everyone else says above.

And I like to say "ditto" ... it means I'm in the majority for a change.

most of the time someone that doesn't know each side of an issue will go as low as condemning anyone with views that threaten their own.........i blame it on a lack of education
