Buy extended warranty - I've heard mixed problems with them. By chance are you buying at Walmart or Sam's ? I don't see them being offered anywhere else in retail stores

Id stay away from those smaller named-brands. Overall they have a normal to below-normal rating - which puts them in the neighborhood of Compaq and Gateway/ e-machines....not a good neighborhood to be in.
Try Dell - as far as the big companies are concerned they are probably the best.
If youre looking for the best, the manufacturers for pre-built systems fall like this:
1.) Falcon NorthWest
2/) Voodoo PC
3.) IBM/ Lenovo
4.) Alienware (probably should be number 3 but since being purchased by Dell- only bad things can come from that...)
5.) Dell
6.) Sony
(4,5,6 can be disputed....but #1, AND #2 - are correct)
