OK...my wife is 11 or 12 weeks pregnant, and we already had a ultra sound , but today she informs me the she bled, not necessarily a lot, and she didnt say it was spotting either...so im kinda concerned, and we also had an abortion about a year ago. And lately she been telling me that her lower abdomen is sore, she has a small frame, bout 4'11, so i was thinking the soreness was ok, but every one in a while she says she feels a sharp pain also in her lower abdomen. Should i be worried?

Go and see a docotor or take her to the hospital, either way do it as soon as possible, this could be a misscarriage but im not a doctor, if her family has history or miscarriage or she has had a fall or bumped or it could be a ruptured membraine.

It could also just be normal but i would suggest you take it seriously.

Im sorry to hear your having this trouble and make sure yo uare thehre for your wife (it sounds to me like you will be) because this will be very stresdul for her and on the baby

Goodluck and i hope everything works out xoxoxo

I would definitely let the doctor know. Waiting it out is NEVER the way to go when bleeding happens during pregnancy. If it's nothing, it's nothing, better safe than sorry. Also, her size shouldn't have any bearing on anything except she may not gain as much weight if she's a relaly small woman. She shouldn't be sore anywhere yet, and later on it'll be in her back, legs, headaches even, but not the belly. And sharp pain is not good either. Women who have previously aborted babies have a higher risk of complications in later pregnancies, and as high as a 60% greater chance of miscarriage, and the first 3 months are when it's most likely to happen. So she should definitely be on the phone getting an appointment to her Dr. to make sure everything is going well.

Maybe this is not going to be helpfull but i know what you are going through my wife has had 3 miscarriages in the past =( but before that she had 2 kids and we just got our new baby daughter 3 months ago (now we are done) but anyways she bled during the pregnancy on all of them. the doctors put her on a high risk status and ultrasounded her every week and sent her to see a parientologist ( i think that is what it is called) anyways that is a specialst even above the obgyn. And he told her that some women goes through that clear through the pregnancy unfortunately there is nothing you can do. She is 5'4 and weighed 100pounds at the time she seen the parientologist. She also had extreme pain to the point she went to the ER room almost every other day but the same all the the time that her and the baby was fine. So to make a longer story short all you really can do is just ride it through man. Good luck

I was just reading about abortion or miscarriage and future pregnancies. (Studying to be a Doula)
Your more at risk if it is 9 months or less to become pregnant again.
So you do have 3 more months then the high risk area.
Relax:
Women can spot and be just fine.
Women feel pains as the baby stretches ligaments and it is worse for some women.

Does she have a fever?

If you are concerned you both should go see the OB. And ask questions. Make a list before you go.
There are great site on the net. Here is a great one with a section just for dads.

Congrats!!!! And relax tonight.

I would not be worried just yet. Pregnancy is full of aches and pains so an every once in a while sharp pain in the abdomen is nothing. Just wait, it only gets worse as time progresses. If it was not a lot of blood with clumpy type tissuey stuff i would not worry about it. Tell her to just discuss it with her OB next time she goes in. During my first pregnancy i had an actual period through the first five months. Every body is different.

A small amount of bleeding in the first few months is pretty normal, go and see a doctor if you are worried. When you are pregnant for the first time you seem to notice things alot more as in the way of little pains, but there is also a little person growing inside of your wifes tummy and things will start to move around to accomodate for the growing baby.
But to be on the safe side and to put your mind at ease go and get it checked and congrats to you both

I urge you to talk to the doctor on call right away. At the same time let her stay in bed by lifting her legs up for several hours and then get appointment with the doctor tomorrow early morning. I had the same situation and I did talk to the doctor and he urged me to lie down and lifting my 2 legs up. The doctor did not want me to go to the hospital that night. However the next morning my ultra sound was find and my baby was okay. I wish you both the best of everything and call the doctor right away. My telephone called was at 2 o'clock in the morning hour. Now my beloved daughter is 18 and she is in college.

Im not a doctor or anything but i have a young child and my suggestion would be to go see your doctor asap. Its better to be safe than sorry. Try to stay calm of course, and always supportive but if it were me in that situation i would see my doctor; especially with the fact you two had an abortion a year ago. i hope all is well. good luck and best wishes

Get your wife a doctor appointment tomorrow. Remember, tomorrow is Friday. Otherwise if something goe sideways, you will be spending the weekend in a hospital emergency room. You don't want that. You don't need the worry, and I'm sure your wife is worried too. That isn't good for baby. Good luck to you. I

There's nothing you can do but wait it out. Wait and see if there's more bleeding.

AND TO ALL THESE OTHER PEOPLE: Even if you run to the doctor, there's nothing they can do for a miscarriage. They can't even tell you if you're having one! All they can do is guess. A pregnancy test would still show + because of the hormone in the mother's system.
