It's an illegal drug, a stimulant/hallucinogen that causes the brain to swell slightly. It is often taken as a pill, at parties, and is used in a large number of date rape cases, so you might want to stay away from it. Ecstasy is often "cut" with ketamine or PCP, and because each type is different, there is a good chance of an overdose.
