Hi all, I would just want to make sure something about recovery CD here.
1, if now i use the back-up utility and then burn all my stuffs into the DVD as i follow the instruction, then this burned DVD became my recovery CD and i can just use it when my system crash right?
2, when I bought my computer, it comes with a reinstall CD, this CD can also be the recovery CD right?
3, here i named the original CD comes with the computer CD1, and named the Burned CD CD2, want to make sure the difference between CD1 and CD2 is that after recovery using CD1, my system will go back and looks like the first time i turn it on right? and if recovery with CD2, it will bring my system to the time i burned this CD, then with all the softwares and files i saved/installed on it right?
4, when back-up, I can choose to burn in one DVD or 3 CDs. we know that when doing the recovery, we put in the CD and press F11 as window start. so with just one DVD, no problem, but with 3 CDs, how do we do? can you explain?

Ok, you can do a recovery on 1 DVD or on my computer it takes 8 cds. Just that the DVD can hold more. Either way is acceptable.

Now the reinstall CD. Hmm, I have never heard of this. Now if your computer was first loaded up, did it already have Windows XP on it. If it did not and you have to load the DVD then this is your windows XP setup disk. Most computers come preloaded with Windows already, but you seem not to be from USA. So i do not know how they sell computers in other countries or if yours was a custom job. But if windows is preloaded then this DVD is your back up or recovery disc.

If you BURN a recovery disc, what this does is makes a copy of your Recovery disc. So if you use it, your computer will be reformatted and set to the manufacturers settings. ALL DATA and PROGRAMS are lost. That is why you buy DVD RW discs so you can save your programs and update when possible.
