They should ask each customer option whether to get listed in Directory, address, business category, sub category etc. For BSNL customers it is great benefit to call free all 41 lacs listed phone holders free for only Rs.111 monthly within Gujarat.

Alot of people do not want their handy number to be public information. I personally only give it out to my children's activities, school, husband and his work, and his bosses. So if someone calls, I know its important. I don't want just anyone calling my handy. That is what my house phone and answering machine are for.

It may come in future. There are hassles involved as the numbers can get changed. Updation of such directories will not be possible, in real time.

Because they charge by the minute for all calls.
It would be really frustrating for a lot of people to continually get telemarketers and market surveys only to have to pay for them.
(Many people get cell phones just for this purpose.)
