What is sane anyway? It is medically proven that every single one of us has the symptoms of two to three mild mental illnesses.
As long as they don't prevent you to function normally in every day life, you are considered sane. When the symptoms, fears, whatever... start to interfere with your acting and reacting to surroundings, then you are considered ill.
It's really just a public consensus. Nobody can say, per se, that somebody is sane or not.
