Wasnt that the saddest episode of greys anatomy?
I am normally not a crier, The notebook i shed a tear or so..
but the episode where Georges dad dies, was like sooo sad and so depressing. I literally sobbed for like an hour.. and as i am writing this i am crying... I dont cry ever, but that episode made me cry the hardest in my life so far. I have never seen myself cry like this.
The part that got me was when George said that he couldnt imagine living in a world where his dad doesnt....
who else was touched by this episode as i was?
pls no snide remarks or anything. Thanks

Oh man was that a tough one to watch. My dad died of cancer when I was 25 and we watched him slowly deteriorate in the intensive care unit. When she said "welcome to the dead dad's club" I lost it. It is so true, you never know how it truly feels to lose someone until it happens to you personally. Three years after my dad's death, my husband's mom died in the hospital after being there 2 weeks fighting cancer. It is such an awful time and I think they captured all of the emotions, the denial, anger and sadness. What a show. They are all great actors. I am looking forward to the next show. Good question!!

I am wondering if he will sue the hospital. You could hear it in his voice that he wanted to say they killed his father. They did and they know it. This is Denny all over again. They threw a party while Denny was lying there after heart surgery. they should have been on duty. They agreed to cut out the tumors which were every where when they knew it would kill him. They should have lied to the father and not the son and just closed him up. As George put it "He could have had two weeks with his family...." Then again, Bailey should have said "George, he told us that he was an O Malley and wanted a fighting chance." That would have been a great line. It would have left George speechless as he realized that those sound like his father's words.

Not to make you sadder but this show was semi biographical

Read this excerpt by Kristy Vernoff:

Six Days (Part 2) - 01/18/07
The card at the end of this hour of TV that read “In memory of Bob Verne” was a tribute to my father. He died six years ago at the age of 56 after a very short battle with esophageal cancer. He called me one day at my office at Charmed and told me he thought he had the flu. A week after that he had surgery on a massive tumor at the base of his esophagus. Before the surgery he was laughing and celebrating with family. He had a profoundly positive attitude. After the surgery, he had a massive scar down his belly and was intubated and pale, and upon seeing him, I, who thought of myself as quite strong and educated and capable of handling that moment, started to shake and then hyperventilate and had to be helped out of the room.

That line where George says," I don't know how to exist in a world without him." I said those words when my son died. I couldn't stop crying. The acting was incredible too.
I loved that Izzy "cleaned the bathroom in case George wants to lie on the floor in there."
Just as she lied on the floor for hours when Denny died.

What a great line George had...how is he gonna live in a world that his dad doesn't exist in. I know exactly how he feels, I lost my dad too and altho I didn't say those words it's a perfect way to put it. WOW...what a great show. The best.
