Ok. for one thing GET off the wireless, get hooked up to your router with an ethernet cable, wireless tends to lag periodically

Wireless is horrible and increases your ping by such.

and note that ping is measured in milliseconds which is 1000th of a sec or 0.001 s .

60-80 ms is no biggy, most people's reaction times are ~150-200ms.

No, there is no way to lower your ping, your screen lags, most likely due to traffic (use) from your internet, or the fact that without a decent graphics card, a laptop is not made for playing high performance games.

Ping measures the time it takes for a signal sent from your computer to reach the server and come back, (in this case the game server) . So it is a matter of your internet connection quality (broadband and cable users = lower ping compared to dialup users) and distance from the server.

that's a software used to degree the time taken for a understanding packet to get to a definite community handle. however the word has purely replace into synonymous with latency. If somebody says they have a undesirable ping they only propose they have undesirable latency. ninety 9% of the time they have not actual used ping to attempt the thought, notwithstanding it in all probability might confirm it.

your ping time is how fast a signal travels from your computer to the server. think of it like the sonar signal from a sub.

the way to lower your ping is to get faster internet.
or a way to slightly increase it is to lower your packet size in the internet settings. ( works well for dialup users)

also, if they are closer physically to the server, they will have faster times than you.

well turn down the visual-stuff. like go for low-quality screenshots. next, you can (but this is risky on a laptop) overclock your computer, making it run faster than it should. this can cause your cpu to overheat, and your left with, well a pile of poo. and last, check for spyware, and it's not a bad idea to go run>msconfig >startup just to see what's happining when you turn the blasted thing on.
