It's long overdo. The governing economics that Adam Smith brought about only serve the purpose of the GREEDY. His theory was proved to be flawed by Nobel Prize recipient, John Nash many years ago. But the vast majority of American business still adheres to the principals of Adam Smith.
The entire world needs to rethink it's priorities if this planet is going to survive. TOLERANCE is a must. Re-defining the distribution of how wealth should be spread globally has got to take place. Open dialog between people of all nations, perhaps teaching everyone a common language to better understand each persons problems and needs. Acceptance of every nation's people as equals. I disagree with some of the answers here. It can work.... All it takes is co-operation and making a plan. If man can go to the moon, man can overcome the differences that cause us to hate and want to destroy one another.

sargon sorry mate but God forbid ,America manipulates all over the world and not for good
if you think back ,for decades there has always been an Enemy of America who is a total threat to life as you know it and then they get you with the patriotism and fear and most of what too many Americans see as the threat is only the smoke screen hiding the real Agenda they want to distract you from
Iran is now on the cards but they have made made attempts of a peaceful compromise enlisting a neutral country as a go between between Iran and the White house and its the white house that refuses to read or accept any attempt at peaceful negotiation
the only way world peace can ever come about is by negotiation and compromise where all countries involved feel they are being Justly treated
bullying can only cause resentment and hatred , And result in even more threats to America and instability in the rest of the world

my immediate response to this was initially "yes! absolutely! i've been thinking for a few years now that we need to change our priorities." however, your question is just so typical. why is everyone looking for world peace when we don't even have peace in our own neighborhoods? i think the solution is to make small steps. and i wouldn't consider a question posted on yahoo answers to be any sort of help at all, with all due respect. if you expect to somehow miraculously achieve world peace and "end terrorist attacks", maybe you should revise your question and consider a change in the priorities of humankind. as a whole. it is not solely america that is greedy and power hungry, you seem to forget. it would take an effort across the globe, and as pessimistic as it may sound, i don't believe this ever to be possible. rethink the way you think.

How about the other problems we face. Does everyone know there is still a war on drugs and gang violence making it's way throughout our country? There was a shooting in my city where a 15 year old boy was killed.
The continue downsizing or eliminating of jobs to foreign competition. I hope we having higher goals for the future generations and the protection of our country people.

india and china and japan do not innovate. They replica each and every thing from usa of america and to a lesser quantity, Germany. You invent not something. You innovate not something you may advance upon some issues, yet purely Japan does this. China does not advance something. China DEGRADES each and every thing. They make terrible, risky copies of what was once sturdy issues. Even the terrific Universities and Laboratories in Japan are two decades at the back of usa of america's. India and China are 50 years at the back of maximum issues. usa of america does not choose for all of our human beings to learn math. some human beings learn different issues. by ways, ninety% of chinese language and indians are f--king PEASANTS, so end mendacity and saying that each and every physique indians and chinese language learn math. you're a liar.

I read in the paper yesterday that a guy went to Atlanta and was surprised to find the homeless and destitute reclaim the city at night after the others had an orgy of shopping during the day. He gave one guy a few $ and the guy had tears in his eyes. Its not just greed it is selfishness and evil.

That is such a nice thought, but exceedingly naive. The US cannot be blamed for all the violence in the world. Were it not for the US, the world would be infinitely more violent, and much poorer. And do not blame the US for terrorism--there is no evidence to support that charge.
No, if we want world peace, we need more of the world to be more like the US.

Those things would be good, but:
1) They won't end terror & bring world peace.
2) There is no way to make them happen.

Unless you are an American, it is none of your business. I would also urge Americans to see it that way. I am British, and I would say the same thing if foreigners were trying to stick their nose into our business.
