There is a difference between a truly needy homeless person who is down on his/her luck. But I am sure you have seen MEN who are able bodied BUMS out there shaking a Burger King cup in your face.
You don't have to tell me that they might not be all there in the mental department. There are people out there who look normal who are nuts too..

Well, if we have to keep supporting more and more illegal aliens and the cost of housing keeps going up, along with taxes, utilities and food while our salaries are going down, we might all have to resort to bumming. People who have paid off their houses are losing them to condemnation by the cities and local governments and then those governments are selling the property to developers. As long as this type of cheating can go on, we're all at risk.

It makes me sad no matter what the reason for it did not used to be that way. But I know that many of them cannot get jobs at all, or disability, most of those are in their 40's and 50's, they have been replaced by the Yuppie and the computer and the foreign countries that have taken all our manufacturing companies. And that is also a fact. The fact is if you want to get a job today you better be young good looking in College, and or not and then if that doesn't work be gay, or screw the boss? Fact. The sad part is you don't go to the Salvation Army and sit and listen to these folks, women with children out on the streets evicted husband dead or just disappeared? Men who were laid off 10 years ago and havent gotten on their feet because they were suppose to be rehired but when Bush got in those jobs were gone, lost to big businesses, corporate restructuring, no loyalties to unions either, Scab laborers, Illegal immigrants? That is why you see them there. most are truly unable to get jobs and or housing. Very few of those are druggies and alkies or bums, they are just down on their luck and it is pathetic that they won't get back on their feet either unless God comes down and gives it to them because there is too much prejudice against the poor. What about the Statue of Liberty give me your poor and starving? Are we changing that against our own and giving the illegals the jobs and skip our own? Yes sirreee Bob or should I say Bush!

I think that they lower the quality of life for every person that has to live or work in that neighborhood.
When I worked in downtown L.A. I used to turn off my car air conditioner before I got off the freeway and came into the city. Why? Because of all the homeless that just pee in the streets. That smell gets in your A/C and you can never get it out.

well... there are degrees of "nuts"... some can function in society... some are so far gone they can't...
I don't imagine any sane person would want to be homeless...
I think it's sad... but a difficult problem...
