NY CITY SHOPKEEPER SUES FOUR HOMELESS PEOPLE

The antiques dealer feels the four homeless people block his window displays, discourage customers by hanging around his storefront, and perform bodily functions in the vicinity of his store. He wants to keep them at least 100 feet away from his store.

What say you, good people????

I think the shop keeper should be careful about the way he goes about this.If the homeless people got into some leagal trouble over this, then they just might decide to retalliate(sp). If they put there minds to it they could really make the shopkeepers life a living hell. Its a crapshoot.

Maybe the shopkeeper is stupid you can't sue people that don't have any money.~Well......you can but... Why doesn't the shopkeeper get a sign? Or maybe get some really annoying music and play it over and over again outside where they sit. Or like the old saying "If you can't beat em join em"

My previous place of employment had this very same problem. One can only ask the homeless to please leave the premises so many times, before getting fed up. I mean, of course you feel sorry for the homeless ... but you can't risk your source of income, so that they have a shelter.

Seriously, there was one homeless gentleman, who would get free burgers from others ... then try to sell them to our customers, as they tried to enter our establishment. It was awful ... he was in terrible disarray and the odor (of feces) was horrendous. I felt really bad for him, but, there was not much that I could do for him. I'm sorry, but, I definitely side with the owner.

The 'perform bodily functions' bit clarifies the shopkeeper's problem. He has my sympathy.

Homeless people or not, they can't ruin a persons business by doing that.

I don't think he should sue them, they are homeless. But on the other hand hanging out in front of his store hurts his business.

I heard this this morning. $1,000,000 is what he is suing for. wtf?! THEIR HOMELESS!!!!!!!! Apparently the guy suing says the homeless have been doing this for years. Why didn't he say anything sooner? Why not help them instead of watching them outside his store for two years?
