so, uh, what brought this question on?

and exactly how close do you want to get? And given that we can send a spaceship to mars, the moon, titan. and given that we can send a spacecraft to the mysteriously demoted pluto, what makes you think we couldn't strap you to a rocket and shoot you to the sun if we humans so chose?

We had sent a satellite orbiting around the sun.
Another 100 years, for human being travels near, not TO, the sun.

Traveling to the sun not is possible as no matter in the earth will able to retain sun's extreme heat. Any spacecraft would just vaporize far from sun's surface.

we can already travel to the sun. the only problem is, is that we will be cooked if we do. the sun is just so hot.
