ok, so you are at home and then the door bell rings. you answer and there standing on your front porch is a strange man in a bussiness suit. he comes in and tells you about this offer. He shows you this little box with a big red button inside. he says " do you want 50,000 dollars"
you smile but know it's too good to be true... of course it is. then he says " all you have to do is push the red button, but when you do, someone that you don't know[anywhere on the earth] will suddenly die, but remember in exchange you will get your 50,000 dollars..........

so what would you do? would you take the offer or not? could you explain why?[[[[[remember this is a scenerio, actually from a story called BUTTON, BUTTON. we discussed it in class and got some pretty interesting responses and was wondering how other people think]]]

I have the tendency to impulsively steal hairstyles I like. It's been really disappointing sometimes. At some point when I was little I had some kind of bowl situation. Then it was just short and plan for a long time, and occasionally I let it grow a little and cut "layers" which were really random chunks, once in a while. Then I let it grow quite a bit and generally looked like I really wanted to be Kurt Cobain for a while. So then I really wanted deathrock hair, but was too lazy for the upkeep/general deathrockiness, so I just shaved almost half of one side. And then the undercut thing exploded, so I looked like a slightly boyish hipster girl. So eventually I cut the longer side off, and saw an awesome haircut (coincidentally, on a boyish hipster girl; this apparently wasn't enough warning) involving some side shaving and short bangs, and when I got done wouldn't you know, I looked like a slightly boyish hipster girl. So I let it grow out a little, and tried to cut a few layers in it because it got too thick; and then I looked like I really wanted to be Brian Molko, and thus at the moment, looked like a slightly boyish hipster girl. So it's pretty much still like that, but I've been making little knot-type bun things in it. This also makes me look like a slightly boyish hipster girl, but after like 3+ years of this I've given up. Oh look this ended up being a long rambly complaint.

I'd push the button. Afterall I don't know the person who will die. But one question is the person that dies the person that pushed the button before you? If not then I'd really probably push it a couple times. Tired of always struggling. I might actually kill someone who deserves to be killed. A child molester, murderer, who knows.

No, I definitely would not because my heart and conscious would feel and pay for that for the rest of my life and "then some" (I believe) and that one very wrong action would lead to an incredibly negative change in history..so on and so forth. There would not be any amount of money worth ending a life in and that way... and I by no means should be allowed to play god.

I wouldn't hit the button. I'm a believer in what goes around, comes around. There is no way that I would risk hurting someone else's family because I come from a large family myself.

I would not take that offer, $50,000 is not worth taking someones life. I think if someone would take the money and not care about if someone dies they are being very selfish and wrong. I would not take the money.

No, I wouldn't touch that button. If you have ever lost anyone that was important to you, you'd know why you couldn't take someone away from somebody else.

No, I wouldn't touch the button.

And you have just reminded me of one of the reasons I brainwash my own children. In my day we had "The Lifeboat Game".

I don't think I could live with having money knowing someone had to die for me to get it. I would not push it

Although I am prone to pushing red buttons, I would decline.
